Man, I'm struggling getting all the different pace type workouts I'd like to do during the week. But, here's another idea. To do a 3:30 marathon, the Projected Time Charts suggest a 5K at 7 minute miles and a 10K at 7:15s. Unfortunately, either is a challenge (Ironically, my Yasso 800s suggest I'm doing well).

Anyway, might try to throw in some 5K and/or 10K "races" as training.

If I don't get a BQ in May (which for me in 2010 is a 3:30)... I'm prepared to keep training and try again in the fall. Just not sure which race that would be.

Silly question but is Marine Corps a BQ race? I was looking briefly on the Boston website and couldn't find anywhere which marathons count as I doubt its all but maybe it is...again I'm showing my ignorance as I've never thought about BQ till this year--as a 3:20 gets me in--which is going to be tough.

Isn't the criteria a "road race of america" race or something like that? I'm 99% certain it is.

I ran it way back in 94 or 95... in like a 3:08 which qualified me back then. For 2010 I need 3:30.

That's such a challenge for me!

Sounds good. I'm probably overthinking it that it had to be a timed chip race, etc. Any information you come across would be great--especially I am more and more thinking of making a run (no pun intended) at BQ.
