RUN
Treadmill 2 mi 00:27 13:30 pace
Treadmill run to give my shin splints and shoulder joint a break. Faster pace than I've been making on the road. Good workout.

RUN
good Neighborhood 2 mi
Some walking breaks. Made the first half mile of hill w/o walking though. Shin splinty.

RUN
good Neighborhood 1.7 mi
Messed up with RunKeeper so have no idea of actual time, which is just as well. Shoulder feeling great! Walked an additional 1.5 miles but walking doesn't count. :p

RUN
good Treadmill 0.5 mi
Very tentative treadmill half mile. At that point my shoulder was twinging so I switched to stationary bike.

RUN
good Neighborhood 4.02 mi 00:56 13:50 pace
The great thing about freezing rain is that it really helps motivate you to keep running, because if you stop, you're just going to be out in it that much longer. Although I did have a short walkin... read more

Freezing rain!? Gangster.

To be fair, it started out clear, then turned to snow, then turned to freezing rain. If I could run faster than a grandma with a cane, I probably would have made it home before the crud started coming down. :p
Although yes, I am just that rock and roll.

good Bexley 3.42 mi 00:48 14:10 pace
Only meant to run 3.2 but got lost and accidentally ran an extra quarter-mile in there somewhere.

RUN
good Neighborhood 3.2 mi 00:46 14:16 pace
First outdoor run since November! Slow time due to general out of shapeness, picking my way over unmelted snow fields, and ZOMG hills. But feeling good.

RUN
blah Indoor track 1.2 mi
Lame run on the indoor track. I think I am still not quite over my virus because I started feeling light-headed after a mile and had to quit. Still, at least I'm off the #&$@ treadmill.

RUN
great Treadmill 2.33 mi 00:28 12:01 pace
Really good workout this morning. Must remember that just because the heavy sweater feels comfortable on the way to the gym does not mean it will feel good afterward, though.

I have set a goal for myself of running 1000 total miles in 2011. I think it'll be challenging but achievable. I will be tracking my progress with Dailymile updates, so if you don't want to see a l... read more

WALKING COUNTS. Seriously. Mark it as a different workout, if you want, but it totally counts. Miles covered are miles covered, and your legs and feet remember them. If and when I do my 50-miler, I'll be doing a mix of walking and running, and you better believe every mile of it will count. ;-)
(I know a guy, through a listserv, who just did a 40-miler walking this weekend. Apparently, the pain was exquisite.)

Thanks guys! I decided to totally take off from running while I was still in physical therapy for my shoulder, because running was making it twinge really badly and I really REALLY didn't want to have to re-do the surgery. But today's run felt great!
