You will totally finish it! Do a few of training runs beyond 5k if you need a confidence boost - it helps make the race distance feel "short" - but don't doubt your ability to finish. You've totally got this!

Great 5k, Samirah. Running with a wet towel on is very Rocky Balboa, and thus very Philly, and thus very apropos. You should rock that more literally more often. ;-) Glad you're feeling strong and energized and managing safely sans knee brace. Rock'n'roll.

Awesome run, Samirah. Glad you got out there in your schmancy new kicks! About this Zombie game; I want to try it, but it's crazy expensive and reviews seem to imply it's really just an audiobook that plays between songs. I can't find a real description of how the game works. Assist?

Ok, there's a running storyline in the app, and between the narratives, it plays songs and you pick up supplies and outrun hoardes. They have a website that you can go where you build up your base (if you want to) with the supplies that you've gathered during the run. I really like it, to me, it was worth the money because it keeps me interested in my run, and I have 3-4 sprints that last about a block or 2 which helps my endurance.

The missions have lasted me about 3km, but after that, your playlist continues afterwards, and at one point, the guys at Abel Radio (a fictitious post-apocalyptic radio duo) talk between songs. I find it very entertaining, honestly. I don't regret buying it. I read that they're also working on a 5k add on as well

Ah, I think I get it now. So the core story is sort of audiobook, but there's more to it than that (which people don't really explain in the reviews). Sounds kind of cool. Maybe I'll treat myself after I'm done with this race training cycle. Thanks!

Awesome 5k to get back in to it! Glad you're not feeling gelatinous any more. Hot feet is weird - maybe the texture or firmness of the insole is causing friction? How long were they hot for? (I need to get me this zombie game, don't I?)
