good Recovery Run 2.87 mi 00:24 08:24 pace

RUN
good Slow and Steady 6 mi 00:53 08:46 pace
Took it very easy this morning because after this run I would be over 20 miles in three days. I am learning slowly but I know the key to this whole training plan is to keep my easy runs super easy... read more

Nice run, Jo!! I really REALLY need to work on slowing down for my easy runs too. Grrrr. I don't know why it is so hard for me. Glad you got the miles in this morning!

@Becca What helped me is to set your pace zones on your Garmin, that way you don't have to remember what all the VDOT paces are, then program the run at EASY pace. If you find yourself above pace you can always slow it down. I might be able to run my threshold at 7:19, but training your body to hold your correct VDOT 46 easy pace of 9:07 is more beneficial
Nice run Jo, racking in some good quality miles.

good Morning Tempo 8.5 mi 01:09 08:05 pace

Joanna I totally agree. The 200m track is good for a few things, and awful for the distances. Glad you got out for this one.

Great run, girlie!! I was wondering if you had run this morning.... It was windier than I had thought it was going to be :-( Really nice miles for so early!! I am considering increasing my easy miles tomorrow from 5 to 6 and my miles Thursday from 4 to 5 to get 39 miles for the week after reading your blog (gotta keep up with my pacer!). MUST make them EASY miles.

I have been debating my tempo/interval runs in the AM for that same reason. Nice job!

Nice run! Glad you got out and about on your trip... and safely, to boot. Do you think there are just more runners there, or you are running in a more populated area than you're used to so early in the AM? Either way... Happy Thursday-its-almost-Friday. See you in a few days!
