x-ray came back negative. Which only means that I don't have arthritis or cartilige damage in my hip. I guess that's good for my long term health, but all indications still pointing towards a femoral neck stress fracture. From the sports docs I've spoken to, all too common amongst endurance runners, and generally shows up 3-4 weeks before the marathon. Well, I'm right on schedule.

Wow...I hope you feel better! Did you see the location in AZ from my posted workouts? Were you near there? I have to go back!

you mentioned Saguaro National Park in your post. I live on the east side of Tucson and run into the park for my long runs. Or, at least I used to when I was able to run. Just wait- come in another month when the whole desert is blooming. The hillsides will be bright yellow from the brittlebush and palo verde trees. The mesquites green out in mid April. Right now it's a bit barren looking.

Yikes, sorry to hear that it still sounds like a stress fracture. What terrible timing, even if it is common. :( Glad that your x-ray ruled out some other things though. Good luck, Morey.

I just have to realize that sometimes it's the journey that's more important than the goal. How else would you find out what your limits are, unless you exceed them.
