      Nice job, Monica! If you ran one minute over your race goal, that's a great sign! The excitement and adrenaline of race day will help you a lot! Personal example-- my first 5K race, I'd been running about a year and was really comfortable with the distance, but I'd never been able to run <30 minutes in training, so that was my goal, even if it was 29:59! Race day excitment and a cool brisk morning carried me to a 26:41.

      I'm not familiar with Rodney"s beginner DVD, but I like his other ones so well, that I'm sure it's a GREAT choice! On his other ones, I find that his instruction is clear and precise, which is great for learning. And yes-- it gets easier! It's gradual but steady. You'll do great!
