This was my 1st run post marathon. It's funny, b/c the first 1/2 mile of the run was just brutal. The weather was great, but my left knee was achy and cranky. As I got out of my neighborhood (about .5 miles in), my left calf started cramping. I was considering turning around and calling it a day. But I thought it might feel better as I ran up the hill outside of my neighborhood, so I trudged on.

There's a point where the sidewalk is all muddy and slippery, so I slowed almost to a walk. Right then, I hear some people behind me. Sure enough, there were two runners, so I moved over to the right. As the woman came up alongside me, I turned my head to say hello ... and she just ran right by and didn't say a word! No head nod, no eyebrow raise, nothing! And the guy who she was with ran by a minute later, and he turned and said, "Morning."

That - that little snub - was all I needed. I was no longer thinking about my poor knee.

My splits:

10:35
8:43
8:31

Nothing like a little competition to take your minds off the aches and pains!

You go girl! Nothing worse than another runner passing you or coming towards you and not acknowledging your excellent style!
