      Nice TM 6 miler Monica. Glad the Achilles is looking a little better. Did you end up getting heel inserts? I've put those in and mine aren't as painful, even when pinching the A.T. Still some, though.

      @Carolyn, I understand; I feel the same way! I actually have rheumatoid arthritis, so I want to make sure that I get that under control before I go down the orthopedic/physical therapy path.

      It may be time to take the rest since you are not doing your body any good, also condition is just going to get worse and may keep you from running for a much longer time. You plan to run for the rest of your life so be kind to your body.

      I hear ya on the soreness from the training. I've got a tough Achilles, too. Time off during this taper is hard mentally, but I think it is helping it a bit.

      Oh wow, I hear ya....am feeling the same way since Detroit but my issues are my gluts...I only ran 5 this evening at MP and while the weather was nice, just wasn't feeling it. My plan is just to run Houston nice and easy. You've got the training done, just enjoy the race this time! Good luck.
