This wasn't really a trail run, but I tried to mimick a different terrain the best I could. :) I ran 10 out of the 12 miles today on the grass/dirt next to the paved path at Zorinsky. The first 5.5 miles felt great, and then I stepped in a hole on the small lake and rolled my left ankle. I said a few choice words and finished up that side on the pavement. I think it scared me more than it hurt. I ran the big side again on the grass/dirt and rolled the same ankle as I stepped on a pine cone. Once again, it didn't really hurt and I could still run. Running on something other than a paved path takes a lot of focus and concentration. You can't just go for a run and not think about anything...I can see how easy it could be to injure yourself.


Nice distance for trying something new, Missy! Glad the parts where you didn't roll your ankle felt good.

Glad you got thru it all ok! I'd like to try some trail running sometime-sounds adventurous! =) If you're up for it, a group of us ladies meets at 6am on Thurs morning to run (either at Lake Z or the Papio at 159 and Pacific), we do around 4 miles at a 10-10:30 pace, let me know if you want to join us!

Nice run, Missy! Trail runs are tough, I'm always afraid of spraining my ankle. It's a good workout though!

Tammie...I was going to ask you if you would meet me out there sometime since you know the territory! I am available this Wednesday morning (the earlier the better), or the morning of Saturday the 29th, or the morning of October 13th. I'd like to do a 10 miler out there sometime.

Wow Missy!!! You ran 12 miles today after running 10 yesterday, you're amazing!!! Trail runs are fun, but can be tricky. I have one the day before my next half and I'm a bit nervous.

Nice job, Missy! I did 7 miles off road once and was worried the whole time about breaking something. Tammy and Missy, let me know if you go out to Cunningham the 29th, I'd love to go.

Wow. Missy you are amazing. I wish I could run like you. Back to back like that wow! Running on trail is hard. I don't like that feeling like I'm gonna sprain something with every step.
