Haven't done a brick since....before Arizona. Awkward but love 'em. After a short bike you are all warmed up and can fly off of the bike (flying being relative). Have fun!

Always interesting to get a glimmer of what other people think of you - or your abilities. And it seems many of us never think what we are doing is all that great or exceptional...but when you step out of the endurance sports world....it is. I do the same thing with people in so many other areas of life (cooking, networking, rock climbing, travel). People know you can do it, Jess. You have in the past, even if you need motivation right now. You are intimidating :) Be inspired and go for it!

Hm, that's one of the times when running probably doesn't sound like fun... But also probably one of the times when you most need to run. So sorry to hear about your loss- good for you for getting out there and pressing on. :)

Get the time in when you can but truly focus on being there for your SO (When my wife's father died I was there for support but found there was a fair amount of "idle time" so I ran a few times... so, you might bring workout clothes "just in case").
