Very slow ride with a detour guided by Peter C of the old Hobsonville Airforce Base, Bomb dumps etc etc. Lots of stops.

You definitely will increase speed with mass loss! But remember when you were fueling for body sculpting that was for weight training and lower intensity cardio as opposed to endurance you do now.

Got severe stomach cramps around 30k in so cut it short and limped my way home in pain.


Sounds like a tough ride. Lots of climbing. What race are you training for?

That does sound like a lot of work ... and it's been rather hot too. Some days are flat for no reason ... and the next are often better.
