    Awesome morning for a run!

  2. Fun news for the day: my oldest son announced yesterday that he signed up for the 7th grade cross country team! He had been debating between football and CC. Can't wait to watch him rip it ... read more

My 8yo is running his first 5K next weekend - hope he gets into running but given that he's also trying out for travel baseball and travel soccer, it will probably only be when he burns out of those, or doesn't make the really competitive local high school teams.

  3. RUN
tired Easy run 6.65 mi 01:00 09:01 pace

Run was fine, but I felt pretty tired. The last week+ are catching up to me. I am looking forward to a (hopefully) quiet weekend.

  5. RUN
great Madison Mud Run 4.6 mi 00:44 09:33 pace

Another fun mud run in the books. We didn't race it, but ran together as a team. So much fun. I was going so fast down the slip and slide, I got seriously scuffed up when the grass finally ... read more

  7. RUN
alright Around the Grove 7 mi 01:02 08:55 pace

Started out tired and still feeling a bit under the weather. Just took it nice and easy, then picked it up a bit the last 3 miles. This was my first run in my new Brooks Pure Cadence 2s - I liked... read more

good Easy run with 4 strides 8.52 mi 01:16 08:53 pace

After a couple of down weeks, it is time to start base-building again. It was a beautiful morning for a run (sunny and 60s). Last 2 miles I ran alongside my son as he biked to school. Threw in 4... read more

Glad to see you took a break between races :) I see so many runners that just keep going full-force year-round - and I think that's dangerous!! I'm considering doing the half in Columbus this fall - if my feet get healed up in time - so I hope to meet you there :) Best wishes with your training this summer/fall!!

Carla Jo - I am shooting for a 7:35 pace (crazy, I know)! Ha, we'll see how it goes.... Paul - I did Columbus in 2008 and it was a great course. I wasn't training much at that time and ran a 3:34. I am hoping to be much faster this year! Thanks Keith - hope you are running again soon!

  9. RUN
good The Glow Run 3.1 mi

Fun run with the boys. We ran it untimed. Lots of fun, but crazy crowded and I didn't expect 90%+ of the participants to be walking!

  10. RUN
    blah Lake Monona 5k 4.3 mi 00:33 07:37 pace

Someone thought it would be funny to misdirect the frontrunners. Went from first female to fighting through a 4+ mile 5k. Ouch.

Fun race. I knew I wasn't in top shape going into this and decided I'd be happy with anything under 1:40. BUT, it was such a great morning and I felt great, so I decided to go for it an... read more

good Easy run 6.67 mi 01:01 09:05 pace

good Tempo run with a friend 8.81 mi 01:09 07:52 pace

Ran a little over a 10 minute warm up (8:47 pace); then did 40 minutes at 7:40 pace. We actually averaged 7:43 pace, but given the hills, wind, and chatting, I think it evened out. We then did 4 ... read more
