Did not plan on running this morning to give my foot another day off, I had met my wife at the church last night and rode over to a meeting together and the meeting went late. Since the foot felt good yesterday I decided to just leave it there and run to get it this morning. I walked up the big hill across from my house since I know hills can aggravate it. The foot felt pretty decent most of the run. Nothing more than a slight annoyance really. The rest of my legs felt like lead but I think that is because I haven't run much the last week and probably put on 50 pounds! HAHA.
Overall I was pleased with the way the foot felt during the run. About 5 minutes after my run through my knees started to have like a burning sensation in them, this happened Saturday also. They felt fine on the run, but a few minutes after I stop they hurt pretty good and now a few hours later my foot is a tender. Still frustrated! Going to hit some cross training and core work this week hopefully.

I hope the post-run pain goes away soon. A little cross training and core work sounds like a good idea. And with the forecast for rain this week that might be the best option anyway.

Hang in there Mike. Love the way you work in picking up the vehicle as a run. Still trying to figure out how I can do that.

You have to rest that foot longer Mike. You're following the same path that I took to being on the shelf for like 6 weeks after the Erie marathon. The knees are probably just referred pain from overcompensating for the foot. Do you have a podiatrist? You might want to consider getting the cortisone shot... good luck man.

Sometimes the knees get a bit wonky when we can't run for other reasons, but the foot is more concerning. Do be patient with it and rest as needed.

Thanks for the advice. I hate running a marathon one week and the next not being able to do anything. But I believe I need at least another week off.

That is an amazing pace for having foot issues! Remember to take it easy and not be so hard on yourself. You just ran a marathon for goodness sakes!

Bummer on the probably just need more recovery time. I feel the same as you. I see everyone running right after their marathons with no issues & I'm still hurting. Just listen to your body & do some cross training.

Wow, 50 pounds? Sounds like you need to run the Pig this weekend. :-) Do not rush the foot back too soon!

Good run although the sensations sound frustrating. Keep listening to your body even if you aren't sure what it's telling you. I'm sure you'll figure it out. Hope you feel better soon.
