I really wanted to run with my track group this morning but when decision time came my inner Jeff L. kicked in and I realized that it would be better to hop on the bike. Glad I did, not quite read... read more

    great Sandell 3.03 mi 00:36 11:47 pace

Some days you don't want to get rolling. Then there are mornings like this where I found myself already dressed for running. Not surprised, the weather is nice and cool - kind where running i... read more

great Neidlingen Hiking 9.09 mi 03:51 25:25 pace

This was a great day for a hike! It was absolutely stunning out - not at all what I would have expected for October in Germany. Our hike was in the Swabian Alps - like much of Europe, there is a ... read more

Between travel and all of the other stuff I've been going through I was very glad to be able to get this run in. Foggy breath temperatures and running along the river is a favorite of mine an... read more

    good N Peachtree tester 1.05 mi 00:17 15:50 pace

A little knee tester. Actually the knee held up well, but other issues I usually keep at bay with running were not so great. Did the trainer after - I will try switching it up tomorrow. Hope that ... read more

Sounds like a great weekend - too bad the knee wasn't in better shape for that. But the test mile was ok on the knee today. You may have violated the parenting rule about never letting your children know about your own shenanigans growing up.

good Trainer again 10.1 mi 00:34 17.9mph pace

One more ride on the trainer. In defense of it, its nice to have a stable ride to focus on conditioning without having to worry about untoward knee action.

Hope you have a great day!

I appreciate the encouragement from everyone to stay on the bike - much appreciated! At any rate, I have definitely discovered that being outside is more inspiring than YouTube.

Sticking with the trainer - seems to be suiting me well and I don't want to press my luck with running yet. This ride was way back this morning, although I suppose that with indoor rides, tim... read more

Good move, Mike - keep riding and give the hammy more time to heal than you think it needs. With you on the benefit of the morning workout - get 'er done and move on.

The best way to test your hamstring is to shorten your stride and walk hills. If there are no obvious issues with the knee or hammy, then lengthen your stride and walk more hills. It's a rinse & repeat process until you're certain that the hamstrings are healed. Nice miles on the bike, Mike
