  2. RUN
great Myrtle Beach 5 mi 00:57 11:21 pace

We seemed to avoid the rain, but the temperature settled down into the normal range of 40's-50's, which was a good thing. Back and forth on Ocean Blvd again, but added on a mile right on... read more

Did you run barefoot in the sand, where the waves meet the beach? The best feeling, ever!

Thanks everyone! And no joke about carbo loading opportunities. Myrtle Beach seems like a great place for a race, Darrell - I'll look for you at Publix! Not a barefoot runner ... although I did test the ocean water earlier and it was really cold!

great Myrtle Beach 6.11 mi 01:12 11:42 pace

Taking a long weekend in Myrtle Beach and today was the best day to take advantage before it might get too rainy. Ran a flat 6 miler out and back on Ocean Boulevard - good to get the miles in and f... read more

    great Weight Training 01:00

Upper body and core. The after work group run got rained out and so I thought I'd take a shot at re-starting some strength training. My last session was in September so I was due, to say the ... read more

  6. RUN
great Treadmill Intervals 3.04 mi 00:40 13:12 pace

Inching my way up the TM zone. No tire punctures this time so I got the full workout in. 5 min warmup, 6 x (4 min/1 min, 5.3ish/6.5 pace), 5 min cool down - "distance" is Garmin based. ... read more

  8. RUN
great Murphey Candler Park and back... 8.13 mi 01:43 12:41 pace

A gray, misty morning was just right for a longer run - I hadn't been down to Murphey Candler Park in a while and so this seemed like a good destination to target. Really nice to get a little ... read more

  9. RUN
    great Womack Loop 2 6.23 mi 01:17 12:22 pace

Much as it was nice to sit outside yesterday evening in gorgeously warm weather and have a couple of beers (with DM alum John K. !), I did appreciate that it cooled off this morning.

  10. RUN
great PCMS Track 5.07 mi 01:01 12:00 pace

Kind of a strange morning, wasn't sure whether it was going to be a downpour or not and so I drove to the track instead of the usual running to it. Of course by the time I got there, the rain ... read more

  11. RUN
    good Treadmill 2.28 mi 00:30 13:09 pace

Treadmill intervals as part of the plan. What was not part of the plan was getting a nail in my tire. So my warmup consisted of changing a tire and I had to cut the run short by two intervals (~10... read more

They have a speed monitor on Tilly Mill - with a little sprint I managed to get a reading out of it!

  13. RUN
    good Womack - Cambridge 5.38 mi 01:09 12:46 pace

Still kind of beat, so getting out first thing was the best call, especially before getting into all the Big Game hooplah. I think it wasn't just me, it seemed a lot more crowded than usual ou... read more

    good Peeler 3.09 mi 00:38 12:21 pace

I am shocked at how nice it is out this afternoon - 65 deg F and sunny. I guess Arthur Blank really can control the weather for Super Bowl weekend.

    great N Peachtree 4.06 mi 00:48 11:45 pace

As will we, it's going to be a ZOO in the city. Also, great run -- I love those transitions this time of year, the sun breaks through and you get that little bit of warmth on your skin. Sunrise runs are awesome until August, when I try to be done before the sun is all the way up !

They are saying that 1 million people are coming into Atlanta for the game. How they will all fit into a 70,000 person stadium is beyond me!
