WOW, 4:13am is a LONELY time to run!! Plus it was definitely chilly out at this time (maybe near freezizng?), seems like the temperatures were a bit cooler than they were supposed to be all weekend, but the middle of the night was most definitely frigid!

I maybe got 2-2.5 hours of sleep at our second van transition spot prior to this run, again in frigid conditions outside in a sleeping-bag. But looking back all six of the runners in van #2 (myself included) had to be happy that I slept outside while the other 5 slept in the van, because I would have been way too cramped in the van (even with a full seat to myself) and so while I slept outside the other 5 were afforded more space in the van. So after that cat-nap Isaac M. (hey thanks again buddy for bringing the sleeping bags!) woke me up and he got ready to run his second leg, he was runner 7 (so first in our van), and we headed off to the next transition point(s).

Like I said during this run I was SO ALONE, other than passing a guy within the first mile (who was kinda a weirdo, when I passed him I didn't see any headphones on him but it sounded like he was singing/maybe talking to himself), and within the last mile and a half I could finally see some blinking lights ahead of me and I passed one more lady, offered her some encouragement of course and could just barely see a couple more lights ahead of me before the end but couldn't catch-up. In-between that first guy and last lady I was alone on the same stretch of pretty much-deserted road (other than some dump-trucks which liked to pass me going 65mph) for basically 5 miles. +3 BABY!
