Maratón Internacional de Pacasmayo - Perú 26.2 mi 04:50 11:04 pace

7:30AM Sunday July 5. Pure misery and pure fun, not sure how is that possible but that's what this marathon was about! I'm improved over last year meaning I ran it slower and added 20 minutes to my last year's time personal worst :) BUT I got to ran the first 5 miles with my absolute favorite S Elizabeth Z. stopped several times for pictures, slowed down to chat with other runners, talked and joked with kids at water stations and simply enjoy myself and the awesome views. Not sure what makes this course so difficult but I guess is the combination of humidity, serious hills, mix of paved roads, dirt and very rocky terrains and last 6 miles of sand. Best part was to wait for Elizabeth and join her for her last half mile to the finish line. She is so awesome that despite having right leg issues not only finished this incredibly tough race but placed as first in her AG! And as a bonus I finished second in my AG ... this is the beauty of very small races in the end of the world :) ... Now we are getting ready to a 3-days hiking and visiting Machu Picchu. Hope you all are having great runs and hopefully soon will catch up on your posts.

I was hoping for the best and this is more than I could have hoped for. Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away. Enjoy every moment.
