Last night I finally had a decent sleep in a bed! Went out at 6:51am around the hotel, it was hot and humid (80F and 80%) and legs were a bit sore after running in the sand yesterday but after 10 mins I was already running comfortably and found rythm. I was expecting street dogs and some chasing but I have to say that dogs here are either nice or too lazy, other than a couple of barks they didn't bother. I didn't see any other runner and some locals gave me the look like what's wrong with this guy. Here a lot of people walk and cycle as their normal and natural way to commute, so I guess for them the idea of exercising is weird, they naturally exercise as part of their daily life...

Impressive run considering all the circumstances; new country and DOGS!!! I would be staying in my hotel on a treadmill but then I wouldn't get to sightsee. How long will you be there?

I think your observation on exercise is true in many settings around the world. Good job getting in a 10k whil there!

It's very similar in parts of India, people stare when you run, especially if you're wearing hoochie shorts. ;) Also, the dog situation is interesting. I have noticed that the dogs in Bangalore are aggressive, while the ones in Bombay won't bother you! Glad you were able to get out and run!

Great read Miguel and some solid running. Funny how the world changes outside our own little spheres. Thanks for sharing.

Miguel!! Too funny. Dogs in Peru, don't seem to like running as a sport. Must be the beach thing for the dogs in Sri Lanka.
