Act like a horse. Be dumb. Just run.

Jumbo Elliot, Track and Field Coach

I am going to be smart today (after some good advice) not dumb and not just run. Because I am learning (slowly) that the days you do not run and rest, are just as important as the days you do run. (did I just write that?)

May be the first time, Monday will be blank for me. But, not really. The blank number means I am being smart!! :O)

Have a great Monday everybody!!!

Smart! I'm finding that now as I'm doing more races and running faster, I have to approach my rest / recovery routine a little more seriously. Have a great Monday!

I agree Michelle, it is tough but today is a zero day for me too. Guess we have to learn to enjoy our rest days...

I just completed my first 0 WEEK since I started running. After my first marathon I aggravated my IT band from going back too fast to my routine. After forcing myself to take a week off I go into tonight's run refreshed and very excited. Good work knowing when to hit it and when to lay off.

Excellent idea! I just started reading The Triathlete's Training Bible and one of it's overarching philosophies is: "An athlete should do the least amount of the most specific training that brings continual improvement." Heavy stuff man...

You are being smart :) And even though it's hard for us to stop moving ie running/biking for a day. Our body do need to rest!
