Running in the sand was hard! My official race time was about a minute longer than this; there was one portion on really soft sand that I went really slow on, and I think the Garmin auto-paused for... read more

RUN
alright 3.1 mi 00:44 14:10 pace
Insanely hot... it was almost 8 am when I ran. I should've gotten out earlier. I walked a bit just because walking felt good this morning, and I wanted to enjoy it. I didn't feel like I needed to s... read more

RUN
good 3.11 mi 00:40 12:45 pace
Only walked the one hill near the end today, but my running was about a minute slower each mile than I would have guessed. I'm still not used to early morning workouts and 6 hrs of sleep. I should ... read more

RUN
good Alexandria Running Festival 13.05 mi 02:55 13:26 pace
Really, really hurt by the end. Spent most of the last 3 miles walking. My Garmin went out a few times under bridges and such, but I'm still not sure the course was 13.1 miles... I didn't take an... read more

Great Performance:
Running out of medals sucks.... running 13.1 Rocks! Congrats. Michelle. IF it was as hot and/or muggy up there this morning as it was down here then you had an excellent run, regardless of how much you walked.

RUN
2.97 mi 00:42 14:12 pace
Very hot run/walk. Stopped to talk to friends a couple times; did not take training very seriously this week.

RUN
blah 3.13 mi 00:43 13:45 pace
Seriously hot and sunny. Felt guilty walking a lot, but then noticed that all the other people I usually see running were either walking or MIA. It was just too hot and humid!

RUN
good Locus Shade Park 3 mi 00:33 10:52 pace
Pretty hilly almost-5k with Aaron's work. Time is approximate as I forgot the Garmin and it wasn't an official event; Aaron used the timer on his watch to get our times.

RUN
alright Run/walk 8.58 mi 01:57 13:39 pace
The parts of today's run that were on gravel had to be walked as the rain yesterday made the gravel loose and muddy... not ideal for running. I also walked my least favorite sidewalk when there we... read more

With a goal of just finishing, and your current paces you will not come in last, if it is anything like any race I have been in. Keep on with the training and enjoy your race.

Thanks Dan. The results from last year show very few finishers taking over 2.5 hrs, which I definitely will do. I picked based on the weekend, but it definitely is not a race run by many beginners!

RUN
alright 5.11 mi 01:07 13:11 pace
Still just can't get into it this week. This is not a good sign for the half looming just ahead! Forgot my water bottle, and meant to come back for it and then head out for another 5 miles, but m... read more

blah Dehydrated! 4.98 mi 01:12 14:22 pace
Alright, I did run almost half of this, but I'm counting it as a walk just so I don't have to see the dismal pace all the walking left me with! 3 glasses of champagne last night left me too dehydr... read more

RUN

Two days rest after a long run is definitely a good thing. Ran this faster than I expected to run; it feels good to be back on my target pace again after being so far off my game with the more int... read more

RUN
good 10.05 mi 02:13 13:15 pace
It wasn't fast, and it wasn't pretty, but I did manage 10 miles today! Walked a little after mile 4 to eat my first ever gu. It was much thicker than I expected, but the taste wasn't as bad as I ... read more

Great Job! If you are just starting out with the gels, you may want to get one or two different types and try them on your runs and see if any work better for you. For me GU was just horrible on my runs. I ended up going with Hammer products for gel and water additives. For solids, I am still a huge fan of the peanut butter builder bars by Cliff and their "shot" solid gel bloks

good 5.04 mi 01:04 12:46 pace
It was slow & hot, but I did 5 miles. After two weeks of hardly exercising, it actually feels good to get back into it again. In a sore post-run way! LOL!

RUN
good Treadmill at my mom's 1.9 mi 00:20 10:31 pace
Just a quick little treadmill run after swimming with the kids. Although time definitely passes so slowly on the treadmill that calling it quick can only be done in retrospect!

Ha! I tell myself that every morning the alarm goes off. Some days I just go back to bed because I was up too late.
