My 7yo ranked 8th in his group, my wife set a PR, and I took first in my division. Despite the rain, it was a great Independence Day Race.

  2. RUN
    great Edgewood 5k 3.15 mi 00:27 08:42 pace

Despite the rain it was a pretty good race. While it was far from my PR at that race, it was enough to place in my division (I love races with weight divisions).

  3. RUN
    good 10.35 mi 01:47 10:22 pace

I did this long run on Friday so I can be well rested for my 4th of July race. Normally a 5k isn't that big a deal, but I've got a shot at the podium.

  4. RUN
    great 2.52 mi 00:32 12:33 pace

My mom offered to watch the kids so I got to go for a recovery jaunt with my wife. Felt good, and we had some time to talk and plan out our day. Wish we could have that kind of "us time" ... read more

    great Saturday's long run 8.32 mi 01:21 09:43 pace

Had to work the night before so my choice was run in the AM on 2.5hrs of sleep or run late morning and fry. I choose the heat. I made the conscious effort to stop for water even when I didn't ... read more

Got stuck doing another mid-day run in the heat and 60% humidity.

  8. RUN
    8.6 mi 01:29 10:23 pace

Actually woke up on time for this one, but for some reason my kids were up way too early. So I stayed with them got their breakfast, and kind of dallied around the house so my wife could sleep in. ... read more

  9. RUN
    great 2.25 mi 00:21 09:17 pace

All the miles I could squeeze in during the boy's soccer practice. I would have liked to get more in; let's hope that I can find a rhythm between school and parenthood soon.

    Monday Evening 3.37 mi 00:37 11:07 pace

Felt great, it felt even better psychologically to know that I could comfortably crank out a few miles after a double digit run. I did the first mile with my kids (the first .2 with my daughter, sh... read more

      Great Performance:

Phew!! I'm so glad to hear that you had a pain-free long run! Smart to have left the long one to today. Are you in need of a shoe change? I once had a "dud" pair of shoes (they were my usual shoes but this edition was not for my right foot)…felt like I had sprained my ankle.

  12. RUN
    5.35 mi 00:51 09:35 pace

Squeezed in what I could at the park while my oldest had soccer practice. It's a decent park/path, all of the water fountains were broken.

Fabulous run and great getting to squeeze that in. Ugh, a non-functioning water fountain is so frustrating when you're thirsty!

great Ran the Sun Up 8.55 mi 01:27 10:09 pace

Felt great. Since the baby came I haven't had a pre-dawn run. I've forgotten how gratifying it is to watch the sun rise mid-run. Today's going to be a good day.
