I know how you feel!!!! I felt that way when my ankle was sore after Monster Dash. Are you able to do anything else? Walk, swim, bike, yoga?

    great Care4 Breast Cancer 5K 5 km 00:36 11:31 pace

It was so cool to finally make it and run with others!

    • Maggie W.

Yay!!! I'm so proud of you!! :) And so glad that you are enjoying running so much!! Running with others is a lot of fun! If you can find a local group to join, I highly recommend it. Check local running stores, they usually have a group run night with all paces. Also we need to find a race in Chicago or the western suburbs to do together!!

    blah C25K Week 8 Workout 3 2.71 mi 00:30 11:04 pace

Bad news: Getting sick, which is making running hard.
Good news: 5K is on Sunday!

  4. RUN
    blah C25K Week 8 Workout 2 2.78 mi 00:31 11:09 pace

I wasn't feeling well before I ran, and really had to push myself to run today. All I wanted to do was stop, go home, and curl up on the couch.

  5. RUN
    tired C25K Week 8 Workout 1 2.71 mi 00:30 11:00 pace

The last few blocks were brutal, because I started to get a cramp in my side and on my collar bone. Not sure why I got one on my collar bone though...

make sure to relax your shoulders while you run. I know while I run I tend to hunch up my shoulders and have to periodically remind myself to relax them. sometimes they are sore after a race.

      PS you are doing awesome!

  7. RUN
    great C25K-Week 7 Workout 2 2.42 mi 00:28 11:34 pace

Ran in the rain. By the end, I actually was enjoying myself. Having my inhaler helped a lot!

    • Maggie W.

As long as it's not pouring or freezing cold, running in the rain can be really nice.

Either i misplaced my inhaler before our little trip to my parents or Joanne hid it. Need to find it soon though. I could feel my lungs resisting when I try to breathe.

  9. RUN
    alright C25K - Week 6 Workout 3 2.15 mi 00:26 12:05 pace

Ran up a couple of BIG hills. While I was running up them, I kept thinking these are hills I normally wouldn't/couldn't bike up!

  10. RUN
    alright C25K - Week 6 Workout 2 in KY 2.23 mi 00:26 11:39 pace

Went running with Daisy while Eric biked along. We got a little lost and ended up along a busy highway.

  11. RUN

also, don't be afraid to take a day off to rest your legs. I'm trying to adjust my training so I run fewer days (but I'm going to aim for the same weekly mileage) to give my legs more time to rest. we'll see how it goes ...

I probably should rest here and there, but I really want to step it up for the 5K I am doing in about 2 weeks.

Nice! I like your motivation! :) You can always elevate your legs after you run. Like I am right now :)

I think I am going to try to do the Care 4 Breast Cancer here in Woodstock. That way I am helping a good cause, and Eric can bring the kids to cheer for me. ;)
