Was all excited to try out my new shoes on a longer run (6 miles). But alas, the shoes are not to be. I'm a heel striker and these shoes (Saucony Profile) just seem to accentuate that (when I'm trying to lessen.) They make my strides all funny and my feet slap on the ground, which leads to sore shins and calves. Got a mile into the run and realized a longer run would be a bad idea. I'd much rather cut a run short and miss a few miles today than keep going and do some damage and miss the half in 3 1/2 weeks.
