    Teaching Group Fitness Classes 02:00

This was a hell of a day for high-impact cardio. 2 mile run in the morning, 60 minute Zumba class in the afternoon, and a 60 minute step aerobics class in the evening. My legs are shot!

hey, Melanee - you might try some of the nearby state parks. Brazos Bend has some pretty good trails and it's pretty close. Huntsville State Park has some really nice trails as well, and so does Lake Livingston - it's just a little longer drive.

Thanks! Do you know where I can find information on specific trails? Lengths, maps, etc... I can always google it, I just figured I'd trust the DM expertise first!

Texas State Parks have a pretty good web site with links to all out their parks. Maps, fees, camping info, hours, etc. are listed. The info may not be as detailed as you like, but it's a starting point.

As far as I can tell from where the judges lined us up in the morning show, I finished 5th or 6th out of 6 competitors in the figure division and 5th or 6th out of 8 competitors in the bikini division. I wasn't quite lean enough to be competitive but it's hard to be mad about that when I dropped 30 pounds to compete! (The pic I posted is in my suit for the figure division... it doesn't leave much room for error!)

I was carrying a 20 lb bag of dog food across a big parking lot the other week and I was starting to get fatigued. Suddenly I had the realization that I ran the Houston Marathon with that 20 extra pounds on my body! It'll be interesting to see how I do when I return to running with less weight (assuming I can keep some.most of it off). I just hope my IT band issues have finally been laid to rest!
