Haha. That's how I felt about Spring, Bill. We went straight from icy roads to Dog Days. It's obscene. Fall lasts a LITTLE longer! Jewels, I would be more than happy to meet up with you for a run.. especially since the Do Life 5K ended up so badly because of my gimp ankle. I usually run with the Galloway Group on Saturday, but we can meet up after that, or on Sunday! I'm always down for a run. :)

It's hard for me to run/walk. The harder part of running for me is getting going and getting my body acclimated to the sweating/breathing/etc. That and when I stop and then start my legs feel like jello.
That is awesome you are running with someone, I have yet to, it honestly kind of intimidates me :p

@ Russ - I am exclusively run/walk. The break in between gives my body a chance to recover, and I don't fatigue as easily. This morning, though, we were both pushing it pretty hard. Haha. But running with someone is the BEST! I have major attention problems, so one of the things that is so hard for me about running concerns keeping myself entertained. We are pretty close together, so if you ever want to meet up for a run, let me know. You're pretty speedy, though, so you may have to slow it down on my

Good Luck in the Peachtree. I was talking to my brother about it because I did not feel ready for it at all. He said as long as you jog/speed walk you be fine. Apparently there are people who walk the whole thing. Super nervous too, it be my first race!

I've had a week off too - it has its positives, and negatives - I've had SO much more time but I also feel I'm missing something ;)
Hope the achilles gets better with rest - even easing off a bit might help - slower and shorter runs, with a days rest between.

I was wondering where you were! The achilles is a pain in the butt to heal because the blood flow to it is minimal, but rest definitely and go get it checked out soon if you need to (tear that and your out for at least 6 months). Are you fitted in correct shoes or do you normally run alot of speedwork or hills?

I'm sorry to hear you're still in pain--injuries suck! I'm struggling through my second stress facture at the moment, and I understand how hard it is to strop running when you need it for sanity. I also understand the pain of wearing those terrible boots! Ha! Achilles issues are hard to heal, but it will heal in time. More RICEing!

In summer, I am between 13:00 - 14:00 on 8-10miles depending on how good a day I'm having, but mostly 13:30+ . Winter/Spring I was able to go under 13 for the distance. My GA Half race pace was 12:46 (finished in 2hrs 49min).
My problem is that on the run sections, my speed is less than the other runners. But if I try to keep up, I am all spent like an interval session!almost 2 years ago • Like

Mathew, I sure am sorry for your loss. When loved ones pass it feels as if a part of us has passed on also. It looks like your run was a good step in the coping process. Run it out, run it out, and run it out some more.
