This week has been a serious grind for running. As the weekly mileage piles up, my motivation has been sinking. The Cudahy 10 mile race this Sunday should help with that. I do love a good race.

Good luck at the race! I'll be there volunteering, I'll watch for you and shout you out!!!

    goodSemi-Naked Run 9 mi 01:16 08:27 pace

I call this run semi-naked because I brought my watch with me to measure the distance, but then I didn't look at it the entire run. I usually obsess over pace and how many miles I have remaining, but today I just turned on the "Born to Run" a... read more

Nice semi-naked run Matt! I actually set one of my Garmin's pages to display only distance... so, I can still look at the watch whenever I want, it just won't show me anything other than how far I've gone. I've done that for all of my runs this week, and it's worked pretty well so far. As for the post-run nutrition, I go simple... chocolate milk. http://bit.ly/cOgC1k

Felt pretty lethargic on today's recovery. Took it slow and felt fine at the end.

    good17-mile LSD 17 mi 02:23 08:23 pace

After last week's very successful 16-miler, I wasn't as nervous about 17 this week. I even took practically the same route to try and duplicate that success. I took the same amount of fluid and gel with me and listened to the same audiobook (dang this ... read more

Nice job! Did you get a little too excited for those first few miles? :)

I think the S is supposed to be relative to your marathon goal pace. The S in my case is 45-90 seconds slower than a 7:15 BQ pace. This was right in the middle of that, so I'm pretty happy. (though I do appreciate the compliment!)

Just a day where I got through the miles and nothing special happened. Pace was fine, so I have no complaints either.

Nice run Matt. 8 miles on pace... don't take that for granted.

    greatPost-Flood Run 4 mi 00:31 07:42 pace

My run was delayed four hours because of flooding in my basement. Special thanks to the Wauwatosa sewer system for a super fun night of cleanup!

The run was great though. My stride was smooth and the light rain was refreshing. Ran it faster than expec... read more

    greatQuick & Easy 8-miler 8 mi 01:02 07:45 pace

These middle distance runs are getting really easy as the weekly mileage increases. Today was a piece of cake compared to the same distance during last year's training, or even a couple months ago. I was able to try out my new Saucony Jazz 13's (my las... read more

You have been posting some great runs! I would love to run with you someday for the pace and the challenge. Keep it up! Are you considering bare footing or minimalistic running after listening to "Born to Run?"

This is a great Wednesday night run Matt! One of these days, maybe you can drop off that audiobook at my place as you run by. ;-)

Sure Marty. I can activate it on three devices, so I should be able to just throw it on a flash drive and give it to you.

    goodBoring Recovery 4 mi 00:33 08:13 pace

Pretty average recovery run today. It was gorgeous weather and I couldn't possibly find something to complain about. On an even more positive note, I've run more miles in 2010 already than in 2009.

Probably one of the top 3 runs over 14 miles in my lifetime. I waited all day to run because of the heat and finally made it out the door at 9pm. I was prepared like crazy - new fuel belt (which was amazing) with 4 bottles of Powerade and 2 gels, mp3 p... read more

Ok, so I'm not a morning runner. But before the 8am run today, I felt great. I was ready to knock out an 8 mi pace run or scale back and get my 16 mi long run done today instead of tomorrow. My relationship with morning runs isn't usually so pleasant.
