around the neighborhood 2.2 mi
not sure how fast, but I am sure of one thing... taking too much time off SUCKS!

FIT
great lunch time 00:30
not sure how far I went, but I grunted it out for 30 minutes and my legs feel tired, so I must've done something right

RUN
great another run done early 3 mi 00:30 10:05 pace
was REALLY tired this morning, but resisted hitting snooze more than once. Up, dressed and on the road by 5:15. Feels good to get things moving with a run. I might just get used to this.
-
Nice job, Matt! Fighting that snooze button is a tough battle!

good and I even got up at 5am to d... 3 mi 00:30 10:09 pace
Had lunch plans today, so couldn't run at my normal time. So... I woke up at 5, headed into the gym and ran before work instead. And I might even do it again tomorrow!

RUN
good welcome back to running, Matt. 2.75 mi 00:30 10:54 pace
walked a bit in the beginning, maybe 4 minutes? then ran the rest of the way. First run back for the season. My 2012 resolution is to not take the months of December and January off :-)
-
Wow, that's quite a rest and recovery period :-)

Welcome back Matt - the good thing about running is that it's always there waiting for you to get back at it again. Don't beat yourself up over taking the time off, starting again is the important thing!

Turkey trot in Maudslay state... 3.1 mi 00:27 08:47 pace
First time running this Newburyport thanksgiving 5k and very first time running on trails. It was awesome! Nearly 1100 people tramping thought the woods on a cool crisp fall morning. Wasn't ab... read more

Still plugging away w/ the ITB. Next yr is the 25th anniversary of the Feaster Five (Andover), so I think I'll probably be doing that one!

I just saw this (2 months late). Consider checking out the Winner's Circle Wild Turkey Trot at Pipestave (a few miles from Maudslay -- there's a story behind that). The trails are wider -- less congestion.

great A very windy run down by the ... 3.35 mi 00:30 08:49 pace
meant to do this one really slow, but all I had on was my timex so I didn't have pacing info. The 8:49/mile might be exaggerated since I mapped this out on mapmyrun. The toenail I ripped off y... read more

Judging by how sensitive the toe is without the nail I probably should've waited before ripping it off last night...
-
Ouch! Maybe wrap the toes in some med tape?

Adios toenail number 1, you will be missed. But, your tender replacement is already filling in.

great welcome back run 3.18 mi 00:30 09:26 pace

Anyone have their toenails surgically removed? I'm getting pretty annoyed at losing them every season...

Find @Carrie R from Wisconsin, she's had it done.

believe me, i've tried everything. Different sizes, different brands, different socks, the whole gamut. I think I figured out what causes it, and it's not short socks or short shoes. When I run I scrunch my toes up, and when that second toe in from the big toe is scrunched and i land on it it puts pressure up under the nail and a blister forms under the nail itself. The pressure builds up and causes the nail to eventually die off and a new one grows in its place.

I lose my 2nd toenail on my right foot, but I think it's because that toe is a little longer than my big toe. It's only happened once to me, and I try to keep it really short now.

#dailymission I know how much I'll suffer on race day if I don't put the effort in during training... that keeps me committed to the workouts.

One more rest day, then back to some light running tomorrow. Legs feel good now but they were sore last night which made sleeping tough.

Anyone running the Newburyport turkey trot 5k at Maudslay on Thanksgiving?
