great another run done early 3 mi 00:30 10:05 pace

was REALLY tired this morning, but resisted hitting snooze more than once. Up, dressed and on the road by 5:15. Feels good to get things moving with a run. I might just get used to this.

Welcome back Matt - the good thing about running is that it's always there waiting for you to get back at it again. Don't beat yourself up over taking the time off, starting again is the important thing!

Still plugging away w/ the ITB. Next yr is the 25th anniversary of the Feaster Five (Andover), so I think I'll probably be doing that one!

I just saw this (2 months late). Consider checking out the Winner's Circle Wild Turkey Trot at Pipestave (a few miles from Maudslay -- there's a story behind that). The trails are wider -- less congestion.

believe me, i've tried everything. Different sizes, different brands, different socks, the whole gamut. I think I figured out what causes it, and it's not short socks or short shoes. When I run I scrunch my toes up, and when that second toe in from the big toe is scrunched and i land on it it puts pressure up under the nail and a blister forms under the nail itself. The pressure builds up and causes the nail to eventually die off and a new one grows in its place.

I lose my 2nd toenail on my right foot, but I think it's because that toe is a little longer than my big toe. It's only happened once to me, and I try to keep it really short now.

It's so true...I've learned the hard way at a few races when I just wasn't prepared. Mainly in regards to hydration but, it's much better to just keep on training and keep on improving :)
