good All caught up with the Kardas... 12 mi 01:50 09:07 pace

Maybe it's time to take a weekend off and re-energize for the plan - sometimes I find that helpful. This is still a good run - enough to hold you over until Monday, in fact.

I created a marathon training plan on runners world and it has me running 4 20 mile runs. Can anyone convince me that it would hurt to add a mile to a couple of weekday runs and scale two of those... read more

I don't know how their algorithm takes your goals into account, but it's your call. 18 milers are not the same as 20 milers - every minute matters in the late stages of the long runs. But if your goal is to finish, then do what makes you comfortable.

I'd convert two to 18 milers, keep one 20, and increase the last long run to 22.

Thinking about this more, I guess we don't know enough about your base mileage and what the weekly mileage in these plans are to comment - the injury risk comes if you step things up too aggressively from the last cycle or from where your fitness is now. That being said, you have had some good mileage thus far this year.

I do my speedwork in there. It's 2 miles from my door to the start of the trail and then I run as fast as i can through there, because I get so creeped...ya know like Blair Witch creeped out..then I run out of there and do my 2 mile cooldown. But I would be game to run to Superdawg..but someone would have to drive me home. :)

Greg -- I'm doing the Chicagoland Marathon in Schaumburg, IL: http://www.allcommunityevents.com/chicagoland_spring_marathon/chicagoland_marathon_home.html
It will be the first time I've done a race > a 10k and slept in my own bed the night before, which is the main thing it's got going for it.
And yesterday I wore a pair of old running shoes for the first walk and a pair of current running shoes for the second (some Brooks Launch's that I don't really like for running). Can't blame the shoes.12 days ago • Like
