It is always a battle. I am reading (not drinking) Jack Daniel's Racing Formula. He made a statement about Olympians not being the best runners, but rather the best of the uninjured runners. Miss you Mark - the skiing last week was stellar.

Today is the Day.
Too long a story, but TODAY I shake off my crap and get my office-chair shaped butt in gear. I'm reading ya"lls stuff and getting motivated. That, and 800 mg of Ibuprofen should get me ... read more

Didn't count laps. Just swam as hard as I could til pain forced me to stop. Trying hard not to cry or get angry. Terrorists love to hear us cry. We let that happen, then they win. What a para... read more

good Spring Forward Trail 10K 10 km 00:56 09:03 pace
Was told the 5K was 1st so left the corral for last minute relief. Got back and the 10K group was long gone. Actually fun catching up and being a passer instead of a passee for a change.

alright Busse Woods Egg Shell 13.1 mi 02:00 09:09 pace
9 min behind last year's time. I thought we're supposed to get faster with experience and age? Youth IS wasted on the young.

thats why they came up with tools like this age graded calculator: http://www.runnersworld.com/tools/age-graded-calculator put in the numbers and you'll immediately feel better ;o)

Just catching up with you Mark. I realized I hadn't read a feed from you in awhile. All I can say - age happens. I watched my fabulously eager athletic canines lose stamina and speed as they aged. I hope to go out as ungracefully as possible.
