good Winter Wonderland Pre-race Course Run 5 mi 00:42 08:21 pace

One of the two races my club puts on each year was today. Met up with about 11 others from my club to run the course before the race around 7am. This usually gives us enough to finish the course, then get ready to volunteer at the race. Run felt very good and it gave me a last chance to think of where to stick my volunteers on the course.

Once we got back things were already getting busy - so I had to breakout my notebook and start directing people around to the various duties I had them down to do. This course has a lot of turns in it - so having enough people at each turn was tricky. Coordinating things was tough -but also fun being part of the other side of a race.

Congratgulations Mark! From what I saw and what I read, it sounds like the race was a big success. Nicely done! I wish I could have volunteered, but my wife was home sick with the kids and I could only sneak out long enough to see Julio off.

What race was this, Mark? I was supposed to run the Boston Buildup, but couldn't because of kid stuff.

Our race is the Winter Wonderland 5 Miler in Milford. This year we were lucky enough to get selected to have our race be put on the USATF-CT schedule which helped make for a great turnout (and a LOT of fast people)

Tom - great seeing you today. No worries on the volunteering. Glad you got to see Julio before he went off to Arizona.

While running the race, and all those turns I was glad to see volunteers in every corner! magnificent!
