I hit three before I got home so I walked the remaining .3 or so home. Metatarsal pad might be off a bit. Will have Todd look at it tomorrow.

    Rocket City W19D1 3.03 mi 00:31 10:10 pace

Quick little run - foot with pad feels much like mashing a bruise - sore but not super painful. My goal is just to be able to walk without too much pain once it's over.

  5. RUN

Just alter your expectations accordingly and I think you will still have an enjoyable race. There are some things you just can't control.

Btw, I only did 2 weeks of taper for my 50 this year and it went great b/c I had missed some training b/c of the calf. If you training mileage/intensity hasn't been the best you can totally get by on a shorter taper.

Thanks Julia! I was thinking I "feel" better, I'm at work, maybe I should try and get a run in today. I ran with a fever Saturday and I think that set me back more than the virus did. Will take it easy, hydrate and see how I feel Wednesday... Worse comes to worse, I'll do my 20 on the 29th after all that Turkey...

I say definitely rest. You will be fine with a short taper. If you keep pushing, it will only set you back further. This stuff will linger longer if you run yourself down too much. It will all be good. :)

Way to get out there in the cold! It's always interesting how we sort of have to relearn how to dress for the cold each year. I hope this foot thing subsides for you.
