      This is why I keep my huge, old, clunky Garmin. Knock wood, I haven't had the issues newer Garmins seem to face. I'm sorry, though. It would make me insane not to know my distance. I'm a stats junkie.

      Both my shoes do that, I get new ones when it gets down into the EVA foam - it's not the heel striking that's so bad, it's how far from your center of gravity - the higher cadence should help with that.
