This was a really strong run for me -- and a tough one! I went into it telling myself I was going to run my 4x1600 with a 400 RI. It was *really* frustrating to pull back for those rest intervals, especially since there were three other women I was tracking the whole time. I would pass them and then they would reappear in front of me while I was easing up. My brain kept hearing Kristin J say, "Don't get injured for a five miler!" In the end I had enough to pour on the steam and pass those dear runners once and for all, running the last mile in 7:28. I'm happy that I was able to stick with the training plan and still clock a respectable time (2nd in my age group!). An added treat came when I got to meet fellow DMer Shannon H and her hubby -- yay! Love this "small" running world! :)


Hooray! I saw Shannon's post and was wondering how you were doing. Way to be disciplined on your time goals.
