State #5/50 is complete! My husband & I walked the Bi-Lo Myrtle Beach 1/2 marathon this morning. It was a very nice, well supported, flat course. Chilly, but sunny. (We lucked out because it... read more

Not much, but better than nothing. I underestimated how dang cold & drippy it was out there - even ran a little to be done quicker. ;)

Hello, DMer's. It's been a rough week. Got back home on Monday after a lovely three day weekend with a cold that knocked me out for a few days, then had to put one of my beloved kitties... read more

Awesome socks strike again! Did you find these workouts online? Just curious about starting my own deck!

Sarah, first let me tell you that after I made up my deck, I found a website/app that pretty much already has it done for you - sworkit. ;) But, yes, I found lots of inspiration online - from watching/doing bodyrock.tv videos, googling bodyweight exercises & checking out the health & fitness category on Pinterest often gives me new ideas. I also took a good hard look at all the dusty exercise stuff we already had in the house & made cards to use them.

That's neat! Is this something you came up with? A program? Looks like it'll keep things interesting for your muscles! :)

I wrote a bunch of different exercises in 4 main categories (cardio, core, arms, legs) on a deck of cards. I shuffle each category & pull the top 3 cards from each group. I do each exercise for 50 seconds with a 10 second rest two times through the selected cards. I've been doing this since the summer & I love it. (Even when it's torture!) I do exercises that either use equipment I've purchased over the years or are bodyweight exercises.

I don't know what you did but I tore something in my calf and it was very slow healing up. Best of luck.

Awesome visual Min!! Congrats on the finish. Can't wait for you to make you way out west! Sadly, my map would show only two states covered for now.

Thanks, Dee! I'll have to start branching out soon - I've done most of the states within driving distance. ;) It's good motivation, though. And fun to travel to new places!
