Went really well, till I wiped out on the sidewalk at the end. D'oh.

Still trying to force myself to keep it slow. Don't want to burn out or get injured.

good Easy run: West on Shepard Roa... 4 mi
Trying to take it extra easy. I've read that after a race you're supposed to take a day of rest for every mile you ran, but I'm not about to take 13.1 days off.

good Race: Half Marathon 13.1 mi 01:45 07:59 pace
Great race. Ran with a pace group for the first time, and it really paid off. So did all that speedwork I've been doing, apparently. Overall place was 262nd out of 3355, 64th among 2196 female... read more

alright Long run: 11.14 mi 01:41 09:02 pace
Went pretty well. Decent pace. Stopped at the beach to hang with the sisters, niece and nephews for a few minutes. Had a non-caff. Gu during the break
-
And how did the non-caff Gu work out for you? On my 8 miler I had a caff Gu. Espresso Love! It had the effect that frosting should have on a tough run: gave me a little git-up-and-go. :)

I sorta burned out at the very end, but I did start out too fast. And took a break. I LOVE Espresso Love. Can't go wrong with that one.

tired Tempo run: 1 mile easy, 3 mil... 5 mi
Frightening what an extra day off running can do. Only did half the tempo distance, but I'm not sure I could have pulled off another 3.2 miles anyway. Bleh.

Overtraining is worse than under-training... not that I would know what overtraining feels like, but so I've heard.

More uphill than downhill. I want my car back or a lighter bike.

Always more fun after uphill becomes downhill. Well, at least when you're biking.

I can't believe I hit or came under my goal splits -- after a long workday of feeling tired and crappy. Weather cooperated, which really helped. I did feel extremely weak about an hour later, ... read more

Felt pretty good. Felt weak during the warmup, thought I might shorten the workout. But after the first repeat, I knew I could commit.

alright From home to just past the I-... 14.5 mi 02:12 09:06 pace
Evening run. I'm not sure about the accuracy of the mileage, but this run did a good job of tiring me out. Sore legs and feet afterward. Definitely resting today.

That can't be right. 3 days rest after a 5k? Nearly a month off after a marathon? Funny.

Yeah, maybe it just means I'm not supposed to launch right into marathon training. Guess I'll just go vacationing in the mountains for some hiking, then. :)
