  1. So today was the first day back to work. The baby is staying with various family members (Nana, aunt and grandpa) until summer (I teach). It sucked. What also sucks is the fact that I talked my ... read more

::hugs:: in sympathy to the baby leaving. I am an occasional special needs newborn nanny (occasional in that I'm not financially obligated by our budget to work that position and only take jobs when the schedule/mood/family clicks) and I can totally feel a mom's pain at leaving the baby behind, even if you *know* how much love it is getting while you are gone.

Make sure you give yourself time (both physically and mentally) to decompress!

Sorry, Maggie. It does get easier in time. Every passing day is a day closer to the wonderful summer you are going to have with that baby and running ;-)

I hope you got through your first week back without too much stress. I remember having to go back to work after baby... it's really hard at first because work will never be the same after you've become a mother. Thank goodness for summer vacation, right? :-)

I'd recommend a wrap - I used one for my youngest from 5 weeks to....last summer (she's 4.5 now). I loved my wrap, wish I had it for the other two.

I just quit because last summer (first trimester) here was SO HOT, it made me miserable and nauseous to get out and try to go any faster than a crawl. Then by the time it got cool enough, I was totally out of shape. I told my husband there is a limit of two children in our household, so *hopefully* I only have to do this one more time..preferably in the fall/winter.

It's been 7 years since I came a mom and there are moments I lean back and say "wow... I'm someone's MOM." (I didn't get married until I was 37 and had my son just before I turned 39 so I waited a LONG time!) Mom really IS an exciting title (sometimes in ways we DON'T want, but whatever... LOL!).
