  1. RUN
great The Lane Ways of Wales 12 km 01:33 12:30 pace

Day two running along the narrow lane ways of Wales. Sunny, frosty, icey, ducks, ponds, woods, moss, priceless.

  2. RUN
great Back roads of Wales 9 km 01:09 12:22 pace

Arrived in Wales last night and went for my first run this morning. Rainy, foggy, hilly, lambs, snowdrops, daffodils, streams, priceless.

  3. RUN
great Horse Creek Road and Cochrane... 30 km 03:27 11:07 pace

Felt strong today. Footing was a little iffy but it was great watching the icebergs floating down the Bow. Only 13 weeks to the Calgary Marathon 150 km ultra. The Captain must be ready!

  4. RUN
great Cochrane Pathways 8 km 00:57 11:25 pace

Today, I ran like a "finely tuned machine". Other than the pain in my left knee and hip, blister on my right foot, dehydrated and out of breath, I was a "finely tuned machine".

  5. RUN
tired Cochrane Pathways 20 km 02:28 11:54 pace

Lots of work skipping around the icey sections. Then even more work dodging the puddles and muddy sections. All in all the run was a lot of work.

  6. RUN
    Cochrane Pathways 4 km 00:32 12:58 pace

Tricky footing today. The thaw / freeze made it hazardous. However Bill, Kam and I danced our way along the river and back unscathed.

  7. RUN
tired Cochrane Pathways 20 km 02:32 12:16 pace

Had an interesting training session with my running buddy Wayne. A blustery day with snow blowing across the paths. This hid patches of glare ice causing a few pirouettes and other dance moves.

  8. RUN
tired Cochrane Pathways 15 km 02:04 13:21 pace

Tough slog along the snowy pathways. Ended up running in the streets.

  9. RUN
great Cochrane Pathways 9 km 01:07 11:59 pace

Great club run today. In no particular order topics included up-coming races, is President Trump a runner and "Cupping". Never a dull moment with this gang.

  10. RUN
great Cochrane Pathways 20 km 02:10 10:27 pace

Today was a good news / bad news run. The good news was that the right calf held up, the bad news was that 3 of my 4 water bottles froze solid. Not good.

  11. RUN
great Cochrane Pathways 20 km 02:09 10:20 pace

A big test for the right calf and it came through with flying colours. Pushing my mileage up as I train for the Calgary Marathon 150 km Ultra at the end of May.

  12. RUN
good Cochrane Pathways 20 km 02:14 10:44 pace

Big test of the right calf this morning. Had a massage on Thursday, Nola used the ancient Chinese "Cupping" treatment on the muscle and it seems to have worked. Fingers crossed.

  13. RUN
great Kananaskis Deltra Lodge Pathways 5 km 00:33 10:36 pace

Ran with "Share the Future Conference" participants. This morning was the AMA Youth Run Club breakfast with keynote speaker Beckie Scott. Great to hear Beckie's Olympic stories.

  14. RUN
injured Cochrane Pathways 7 km 00:43 09:55 pace

One final test of the right calf. Unfortunately it started to play up at 5.00km. So appointment made for a massage on Thursday.

  15. RUN
injured Cochrane Pathways 15 km 01:40 10:40 pace

Decided to test the right calf. Felt good for 10 km but then the soreness returned. Time to go and see my old friend, Greg Long AKA Dr. Pain and get a massage.

  16. RUN
tired Cochrane Pathways 6 km 00:52 13:59 pace

A number of major challenges today on the club run. First, my right calf is still playing me up. Second, the pathways were clear except for patches of glare ice. Third, I thought I had earned a fre... read more

  17. walk
tired Railway Path 3 km 00:48 25:46 pace

Sue and I headed off into the snow pack. Next time we'll use our snowshoes.

  18. walk
injured Cochrane Pathways 5 km 01:11 22:42 pace

Tried to push the issue with the right calf but didn't work. Time to back off and try the one / two punch of walking / elliptical.

  19. RUN
good Cochrane Pathways 8 km 00:53 10:36 pace

Saturday morning session with the run club. Four of us on the pathways but 8 of us at Coffee Traders. Something smells fishy!

  20. RUN
injured Cochrane Pathways 5 km 00:36 11:28 pace

Recovery 5 km after the year end marathon. Right calf still knotted, coughed up a lung and snow pellets blasting into my face. Other than that it was a lovely run.
