After 6 days of what was pretty much wake-up to bedtime work, I pushed pretty hard at the gym this morning. And given the strange knee pain I still have, I only ran for about a mile (and/or until ... read more

great Strength Training + Stationar... 8 mi 00:30 16.0mph pace
Felt great today after shoulders, abs + a 30 min hard cycle (intervals). If it weren't for The Notebook playing on the TV above me my endorphins would have been higher than at any point in the pas... read more

VELO
good Strength Training + Stationar... 8.16 mi 00:30 16.3mph pace
Finally back at it after a long trip to SoCal and Mexico. I gained 5 pounds on that trip (!) in 10 days but hey, it's only once a year and it was worth it.
I was able to figure out what's up wi... read more

injured Downtown - Sprints 3 mi 00:40 13:20 pace
Ugh! First half of my sprints - no pain. Second half were a disaster and I basically had to stop. My left knee was "sore" (not shooting pain, not sudden, more like deep muscle soreness... read more

Ugh is right. I find that I have more issues with fast running than I do with slow running, as long as I'm slow running for under 2 hours. Hope you heal fast! :(

Thanks. Woke up today and could walk downstairs. Didn't try running and probably won't for another few days at least. I think it's just an intense soreness or something.

RUN
good Lake Union - Barefoot 4.14 mi 00:43 10:23 pace
Barefoot run along Lake Union - lots of fun. Of course I may be pushing it a bit because my left knee is "sore" - didn't hurt during, just a few hours afterwards. Not super painful, but... read more

alright Lake Union 4.12 mi 00:39 09:29 pace
Took 2 days off to rest up the calves and hamstrings but I still didn't have it this morning. Some combination of the heat / lack of sleep and sore legs led to feeling really heavy. And I wore my... read more

RUN
great Lake Union - Barefoot 3.92 mi 00:40 10:18 pace
First barefoot run (in Vibrams) off of the sand - it was awesomely warm. Lots of fun. Had a great first half (sub 10 min) and slower second because of the hills coming back to Queen Anne and the ... read more

great Manzanita Beach - Barefoot 4.3 mi 00:45 10:27 pace
Last beach run - tad bit windy but fun. Calves are totally burning after all this beach running so it's good to take a day off before doing some Seattle city runs (before we head to another beach ... read more

RUN
good Manzanita Beach - Barefoot 00:45
15 minute moderate pace, then 10 minutes of hill runs up the sand dunes (killer) with 20-60s rest in between. Then a tempo run back. Gorgeous sunny day, no one on the beach.

RUN
great Manzanita Beach - Barefoot 5 mi 00:50 10:00 pace
Longest "barefoot" run yet, though still guessing at the distance - I just know I went about 10 minutes further. Felt great! I'm going to miss this beach running when we return to reality.

RUN
great Manzanita Beach - Barefoot 4.2 mi 00:43 10:14 pace
Another guess at distance. Tailwinds were so strong on the run out (20 min) that I felt like someone was pushing me. Unfortunately that meant hell on the way back. Felt like I was running completel... read more
