      Jon and Bobbie this past week have taken turns walking the Dad. Today Jon and I walked a quarter-mile. Daily Mile shows 1 mile, but I only cranked out a quarter. But this is progress. My arm is slowly coming back into play. The weather is still summer so I will take these short jaunts and attempt to improve them. Recovery is taking a lot of energy but I can see we are succeeding. I am guessing about a month or month and a half until I have use of my right arm once again.

      I watched a documentary on the NYC Marathon and got all excited. Turns out it’s a hard race to get into so I thought if I can’t do the Big Apple perhaps I should look into the Mini Apple. Thinking 2019 since preparing for a marathon requires more time than is currently available. We shall see but as of this moment the bug has bitten.

      Doctor appt today. All is good. PT inr finally back to normal after several months. Didn’t get any workout today since schedule would be heat of day and I wanted to give my hamstrings a break but should be back on the road tomorrow.

      + I am up one pound. This has to be water weight gain. I have a very good control over my food intake, diet is definitely on. This is a challenging moment, my right arm is healing properly and even has some movement.

      I MADE A MISTAKE : The 200 # weight was not in its notch on my scale, I tapped it into place. My weight today 214 pounds. So I am still at it.

      Still a long way from where you were not all that long ago. You are doing great. You’ll be below 200 soon. My goal was 215 last Xmas. This morning I weighed in at 194.4. The intermittent fasting really made a difference.

      You so got this. I’ve been around 194-198 since April 27th. I have deliberately stayed around there to see how I shaped up. I may later shoot for 185 but it’s looking like I won’t have to. Wearing size 32 and beginning to need a belt or they start to drop, some brands more than others. Keep up your great work!

      Jim Wamsley has the new course record for the Western States 100. 100 miles up and down the Sierra Nevada Mountains. His average pace was 8:42 minutes per mile (that’s including stopping at aid stations, getting iced down etc). The temperature was in the mid to upper 90’s and even topping 100 at times. Finished 100 miles in 14hrs 30min 04 sec.... God I feel old.

      I trust my weight today of 205 pounds. This is my first use of Dragon naturally speaking. Today is the first time I can read the scale very accurately. I estimate my cast and close at 3 pounds so I subtracted 3 pounds from 208 and got 205. I am comfortable this is now my correct weight. Another way of saying goai achieved.

      Today I will be getting a late start. Rita has a class she is teaching for the next for days and I need to be there in the morning. The Local Running club is doing an event just up the road tonight. Going to join in and pay my club dues. It’s the “Battle of Brevard”. Each town is assigned a color to wear. Of course Palm Bay gets BLACK. Nothing like running around in the late afternoon sun wearing black.

      This heat and humidity is like running in a sauna while wearing a wet parka. I think I’ll take today as a rest day. Was planning on hitting the outdoor station but it’s thundering outside. I’d rather run in the rain but not with thunder because that means lightning. I’m alergic to lightning.
