Gym TM 1% Incline and progressive speed

After a 5 minute walk to warm up I reset to the 5km loop, started at 5.0 and increased the speed by 0.1 every 1/4 mile, ending at 6.2 for the final .11 mile. Then I grabbed a mat and did lateral leg lefts (30 each side), clam shells (10 each side) and tried some bridges but my left hip was toast! Looks like I will be concentrating on hip/glute/core strength while I am up north :-) Isn't it amazing how things just seem to work out for the best sometimes?


When you are on a treadmill doing 5k loop on an incline, what happens at 2.5k.

I would start to reduce the incline from the 1/2 way and sprint in the last 200 yards...

great workout Loreen. Looks like you have to get on that hip machine..do they have one at your gym? works great for the hip glute core area!

@Karin: No, I don't think so - what does it look like? I was planning on doing this routine: http://strengthrunning.com/2011/02/the-itb-rehab-routine-video-demonstration/ It really opened my eyes to just how weak my left hip was when I couldn't even get through the first 3 exercises!
