  3. RUN
    Recovery run 3.01 mi 00:33 11:00 pace

What a difference a couple degrees can make! Smoke is even worse than it was for yesterday's race, but by running a flatter route and it being a tiny bit cooler, I kept my HR down and actually... read more

sounds like terrible conditions. is that from the fires you posted a couple days ago? I'll have to google what UCAN is, I don't know that one. Good luck with both the upcoming half and getting a good race photo! I always have such bad ones, I wonder what I'll get from my 10K today.

Any race that gets titled "In the Heat & Smoke" is a tough one. Love how you hung in there, pushed through and finished strong! I just love your spirit and determination. I think this is a great race Loreen--congrats!! :-)

Oh and yeah it adds a little to the logistics but I have to bring the UCAN with me and take it in about 45 minutes before the race. But it really is great stuff.

Haha, I hate when a mile feels like it will never end. I so hope you get some nice fresh, perhaps even a little cool, air very soon.

And this is why the smoke from forest fires is a consideration in deciding to run or not this summer. Currently 202 fires in the NWT.

For whatever reason you were in my head a lot during my run today. Thinking about you double marathoning last year and then getting hurt and wondering what might be on your radar if anything next. Looks like my answer is a 10k!. :-) Nice 3 and huge yay for no numbness.
