  5. RUN
    In a furnace! 2.5 mi 00:30 12:00 pace

Holy crap, that room was hot today! I even tried moving the TM back so the fresh air fan from outside was blowing right on me, but it didn't help much. Was going to do an hour but, I figure ha... read more

good Resolute Bay TM 3.5 mi 00:40 11:25 pace

Not bad, considering I am in the early stages of a head cold. Started slow and went just a little bit faster every quarter mile. Do you ever notice that some TMs are just harder than other ones? I&... read more

YES I have noticed that! 40 minutes with an oncoming headcold on a tough tm is nice work.

  8. Crap! I think I'm coming down with a cold :(. Not good when you are up in the high arctic, expected to work 12 hour days for 3 solid weeks, and don't want to have to stay another week jus... read more

  9. Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day to run in the WPS Half Marathon in Winnipeg, MB tomorrow. I hope Scott C. And Esther A. have a great time!

  10. RUN
Resolute Bay TM 2.5 mi 00:30 12:00 pace

Got the incline down from where it was the other day, but my shins were still complaining. After the first 1.5 miles I dropped it down to flat, and finished the last .25 mile at 6.8...woo hoo for me!

  11. RUN
Resolute Bay TM 1.6 mi 00:30 18:45 pace

So, that TM that has no incline? Someone figured out how to raise the front of the deck to some crazy ass incline...must have been at least 10%...and I could not figure out how to lower it. My calv... read more

alright Resolute Bay TM 2 mi 00:25 12:30 pace

After sitting on a plane for 5 hours, then sitting around waiting for my room to be ready, I jumped on the TM for a couple. Not exactly state of the art equipment - the belt is pretty narrow plus t... read more

great TM Fartleks at 2% 5.25 mi 01:04 12:05 pace

Not sure if I did this right, but it is done! First off, what you don't see here is my first 18-20 minutes on the TM. I was getting nicely warmed up when there was a power bump and I had to re... read more

I always wonder if I'm doing speedwork right, too. Surely running faster is good, but I wonder if there are better ways than what I end up doing that would be more efficient. Need to do some research I guess. So, this looks great to me, but what do I know! :)

Mike is right - hard to get a fartlek wrong, so don't worry - you did it right! :) They are an easy entry into speed work because they are unstructured.

great The Loop 5.01 mi 01:00 11:59 pace

Went pretty well, considering it felt a lot windier than I expected. Only saw one other runner out there today so maybe they knew better. When I got home, I found out the wind had picked up from a ... read more

great Round the 'hood 3.01 mi 00:34 11:10 pace

Not as windy today, only about 10 mph, and I stuck it out for 3 full loops. It's not a very exciting route, and it does have it's ups and downs (about 130 ft climb each loop), but at leas... read more

      Sherri M Nice Job
      Nice Job:

Nice loopy work today. I think this loop might be more exciting than those indoor track runs you endure so willingly.

Hey, at least you're outside and off that infernal indoor track. :-) And a 130 ft. climb every mile is nothing to sneeze at.

great Around the neighbourhood 2.25 mi 00:25 11:08 pace

Went out for a couple loops around my neighbourhood. It was nice and sunny, but the uphill portion was into the 16 mph wind. Not a bad day.

For Rick C. , a picture is worth a thousand words...it will likely still be around -20 to -30C (-6 to -24F) in Resolute Bay and Grise Fiord when I get there (I live in Yellowknife).

    great 5km loop 3.1 mi 00:34 10:53 pace

Good run outside (finally!) with Scott C. on our normal 5k loop. Felt good!
