Had an incredible time participating in the Riverbank Run this weekend. Although my performance was far, far from stellar, I was humbled by the experience and was inspired by all the runners, both elite and beginners. The last three miles were very difficult physically, but I am glad I pushed through and crossed the finish line running. Congrats to all who participated and had success!


I started at an easy pace but by the half way point I was already tiring. At the 10 mile mark I was 10 mins behind my goal time. My legs were fine, but I was easily winded. At mile 12, I began to experience severe calf pains and stopped frequently to stretch to make it to the finish. I suspect my poor night of sleep was catching up with me by this point.

Great effort, Liz! You finished it and that counts. I am glad that there were no hamstring issues. Well, lack of sleep can really affect a run..
