I will run 12 this week and that includes a two miler to get loose the day before the race. I am obsessing on watching the weather. I wish the high was lower but all it all it should be an okay day. Your 8 mile run was right on target I would think.

Remember what you said that the end of this note. You are trained and even if you do nothing for 12 days you are still trained. Take care of yourself. Do a little light running if you can but pull up if you need to. See you in Chicago. That is the goal.

The trials and joys of the taper are feeling "funny" when you're not expecting it and great at other times. (at least they were when I was rowing...so I am hoping for the same in running) Great job today!

Wow, that is a really good pace for 18 miles. You are doing the work that will have you ready for Chicago. I believe in the ice baths. For me they are what gets me ready for the next weeks training.
