good WINDY run 20.01 km 02:35 12:26 pace

I'm wiped but I'm glad I got this 20K out of the way. Having 20K written in my calendar has been wearing on my mind. Running is a mind game! And a foot, knee, ankle and hip game.

The first 8K felt great even though it was SUPER WINDY. Seriously, the wind was whistling through the escarpment and I got wacked in the face with leaves. I was running into the wind and it was challenging, but at this point I was just happy to have some time to myself.

At 8K, however, I ran out of paved trail so I started a bit of trail running.Then at 10K I ran out of level-ish trails so I started some steep hill running. I've been doing out and back runs, I don't know the trail system well enough to do loops, so I ended up doing 4K of trail running. It was a slap in the face. I took some walk breaks through the steep hills and lost my momentum. Also my will to run.

I did make it out of there and once I got back onto the smooth path I got my rhythm back. I was still tired though. At 15K I wanted to quit, but I was still 5K from home so I kept going. At 18K I perked up again, for some reason, and I finished strongish and happy to get this stinker run under my belt.
