      Lisa, way to play it smart and walk! If you're having shin splint issues try looking into compression socks or sleeves, they worked wonders for me, and R,I,C,E. Rest Ice compression and elevation.

      Thanks, I hope I can run a full half trial. I am getting myself psyched and I think I may try to do it one of the nights this week when my husband gets home from work instead. I didn't like Sundays forecast on the news tonight.

    It felt great after the burn I got in my thighs the first 2 miles of hills, after that it was much easier and I felt great when I was done.

      getting up the hills is the tough part I love coasting down them, LOL. I'm riding gravel roads too. I don't think I am ready to deal with semi's and much traffic yet.
