I did my first c25k training on Wed. My knees still hurt. How long is too long to be in pain from a workout? I'm living on ice and motrin. :-(

I learned a very valuable lesson last night & this morning. When my knees start hurting I should stop running. I'm having trouble walking this morning because of my dumb knees. :(

So what should my first step be? The 20 mins of intervals was too much. Should I run/walk for shorter or hop on the elliptical and do the 20mins there for awhile? I'm very discouraged.
