Good run, John. The good news is you are focusing on your form. I've fell off the back of a treadmill once when I thought I was too close to the controls, haha. I obviously wasn't.

Don't make your decision not to be competitive based on that it takes work. If you don't want to compete thats fine but if you don't want to work hard then don't.

This reminds me of the episode of Arrested Development where Michael starts biking to work. As a result, he is always sweaty and people think he is lying. Hopefully your efforts this morning don't hurt your credibility throughout the day!

A workout is better than no workout! I use a heart rate monitor and it usually tells me to slow down by up to a minute to a minute an a half per mile in heat. Your heart has to work harder in this mess. You're still getting a great workout in no matter what the pace may tell you. Slow down, drink more, and you'll be fine.

You gotta either get up earlier or slow down and except the slower pace. That's about all you can do outdoors. Treadmill is always an option.
