great OGLP shirtless rain run 6.14 mi 01:01 09:54 pace

Perfect solitude. Just me and the rain. No trouble finding a place to park. A mix of run/walk. I know I'm not going to be able to run for 50 straight miles in Oct, so I'm preparing for it now by walking in most workouts. Plus, I don't want to teach my running muscles to go any slower than they already do and by 4 weeks out from the race I'll be hitting 80 miles a week. Not sure how my body will handle that with all running, since the most I've done is 45. Run hard and Run long

You've got some tough training ahead, but just think how awesome that feeling of accomplishment will be when you cross that 50 mile finish line!

Awesome, Les. By the way, when I ran my first 50 miler (Mountain Masochist), I did it with only one 60 mile week. The rest were around 30-40. My time wasn't so shabby either. I say that to encourage you that 80 mpw is a great goal but not necessary if the body starts to break down.

The only time you get a parking spot at OGLP is in bad weather. Nice getting out there.
