alright My first 1/2 marathon!! Land'... 21.1 km 02:12 10:05 pace

Not bad, for a first race. It pissed rain the entire time - to the point where I could not tell if my legs were just extremely fatigued or if my shoes gained 10 lbs of water. I felt great for the f... read more

great work, laura! i strong armed jodi into running edmonton (August) as her first 1/2 when she wanted to wait until kelowna in october. the first race can be considered one to make some mistakes on and then nail the next one. however, it sounds like you left everything on the course and that's a good sign. you destroyed a major goal. there's little fear in you and for that alone, you should be proud. congrats on the result.

Thanks, Dan! I am glad I went for it. Prior to this race, the question was "can I do it?" Now that I have that out of the way, I can concentrate on "can I do it faster?" I'm looking forward to October. Thanks for the encouragement!

blah Around McKenzie Towne 6 km 00:37 09:55 pace

No energy today. I could not wait for this run to be over, but could not seem to run any faster. It was supposed to be a tempo run, but that did not work out so well. Hoping for a better run tomorrow!

  3. RUN
blah Calgary Bow 14 km 01:25 09:46 pace

I was aiming for 16K, but I got too hot and dehydrated. It was a hot, dry day in Calgary. I definitely need to pick up a fuel belt before attempting my next 16K run. It was nice to run along the ri... read more

good Elk Lake 10 km 01:00 09:39 pace

Good run. I was feeling pretty sluggish heading out, but eventually my energy picked up. Tried out the 14:1 and it seemed a good fit for longer runs.

  9. RUN
    Mt. Doug Adventure 6 km

I set out to run around the mountain but got lost, as I am known to do from time to time. Somehow I ended up summiting one of the secondary peaks. So, at times my run was more of a scramble and at ... read more

This was my first time trying Moksha, and it was wonderful! Never felt so relaxed.

Nothing like an early morning trail run at Mt. Doug to start the day! Some decent altitude and rolling hills. Perfect!

  14. VELO

One of the best spin classes ever!

  15. RUN

Earlier classes this week meant shorter runs, but it was good to get out.

  16. RUN
    alright 4.5 km

    Just a quickie.

  17. RUN
    blah 6 km

Short run at Mount Doug. I was very tired. Perhaps due to general exhaustion or poor fuelling. Otherwise, a nice run on a nice Victoria day.
