IM BACK!!! Well, tentatively. My shin felt okay, it's still making its presence known, but the fact I'm not limping right now is a very, very good thing. These past two weeks I have been going to my local gym and utilizing the row machine and kettlebells. I think continuing these during my training will help immensely.
