Ran 4.55 miles yesterday morning. I had planned on a 6-mile run but it was so humid I decided to scale things back a bit. Besides, I ran out of water at the 4-mile mark, and I don't like running without water, especially in the heat & humidity. I'm coming off of a nasty case of shin splints and they held up pretty well. Got to remember to curb my enthusiasm and not run more than what's on my schedule!
After the run I went to The Sports Authority and bought a hydration belt by Nathan. It has a nice 22 ounce bottle, and a pouch for gels or a bag of Chomps. Now I shall have 42 ounces of water with me when I go running this summer. Hah! Take that, humidity! You cannot stop me from finishing my long runs.
It felt great getting out and running again. I had taken the week off and it felt like a month. I'm back in the saddle taking it slow & easy this time. My goal this summer is to run regularly, follow my schedule, and stay healthy and injury-free. :-)

great job Larry!

Great attitude dude, you show that humidity. Glad the shin splint are better.

Hi Tammy, Skibba, and Glenn! Thank you for your comments - I appreciate it. That's right, I won't let the humidity stop me from running. There's always a way. My new hydration belt is insulated, so I can add ice to my water bottle and have a cool, refreshing drink during my runs. :-)
