Nice job..I like it that Dr K is giving you good feedback..that is great. I have a confidence issue and PTSD thinking I am going to injure myself..working through this. Not sure I will get past 3 miles but I will cherish those 3 little miles right now. I am so proud of you and that is a fantastic pace on any day.

Great job on the run, Larissa. So good to see you coming back, and coming back strong and happy. Looking forward to more as you add that 10% each week.

    PT on an Empty Stomach

May I recommend to NOT do 90 minutes of PT after fasting for 14 hours to give blood work. I guess at the time I thought it was an ideal day of planning, but certainly not realistic. I hope the PT staff can forgive me. I get a l'... read more

I pigged out on a large, scrumptious turkey and havarti sandwich! I told my PT that compared to a 20 miler, the long run is easier than the PT. hehahe

    2 MILES -- 18:16 MIN >> I FORGOT ABOUT THE GALE WINDS

Just like anything and everything, there is a pro and con and living on the water - Puget Sound - has exactly that! The Puget Sound brings us Gale winds on a regular basis. This would probabl... read more

You'll be powering through these soon Larissa. I can't say we have special winds around here, but the normal ones definitely give some resistance.

By far the worse conditions for running to me. Nice job Larissa!

Richard...I couldn't agree more! I would rather run in downpour or snow then gale winds. At least run was just 2 miles. Many times have I ran 8+ miles in the gales. Ugh. I think this explains why I was able to PR 1:46 half marathon last summer, after all the training living by the water. That's the pro. *wink*

Jennifer... Thank you for sharing with me your experience. That makes sense now. What a relief. It feels good to know that I am not alone with this feeling. I think that is why the doctor is having me just run 10-15 minute runs the first two weeks so I can work on my confidence and get the body prepared for the impact. Thank you again!
